We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhoana Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jhoana, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work life balance has been one of the most challenging areas in my business journey. Being a college student, mom of five, and a business owner can really get overwhelming. I was all about working and trying to have a life IF possible.
As we entered 2021, I started really pushing my business out to get noticed, which means behinds scenes not only did I have to make orders but also take lots of pictures and videos, edit and upload in social media, since that is my number one outlet to attract business.
I had to come to a point where I recognized that I do love what I do but I need a life too. I am a very involved parent, I love to volunteer where I can, and I enjoy having me time. Time management and having a good communication with my customers has allowed me to get it all done.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a creator my goal is to bring my customers’ ideas to live. This is communication back and forth, this is where most of my time goes. I don’t start anything until I know my customers are completely happy with what they are getting. I hope this is what sets me apart from my competition. Along the way I’ve learned that only those who are consistent in the quality of their work and customer service will strive, which is why I always make it my priority. I have found a new compassionate love for all small businesses for sure.
At the end of the day I am just a normal mom with a big dream and big goals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1-We’ll visit Kemah Boardwalk. Of course we are trying to catch up plus have a great view. We’ll eat at Landry’s and go for a speedboat thrill ride. Then we’ll go and hang out at Voodoo, have a couple of drinks and call it a night.
Day 2-We’ll visit Nasa Space Center, because how can you come to Houston and not visit the Space Center. We’ll have dinner at Hopdoddy Burger Bar in Bay Area.
Day 3-We’ll sleep in and then we’ll head out to downtown. We’ll have lunch at The Rustic and then for a tour of Discovery Green , we’ll end our day with some Vietnamese food at Huynh Restaurant.
Day 4-We’ll head back to town to take some cool IG pictures at the murals by Market Square Park and then have dinner at the Downtown Aquarium.
Day 5-We’ll pack early and head south to Schlitterbahn Waterpark after that trip we’ll go home and sleep for 12 hours.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could not do any of what I am doing without the support of my family and friends. My sister in particular has not only helped me with sharing my post and spreading the word, but in my personal life with my kids.
