We had the good fortune of connecting with John Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Crosby education foundation is different than your typical non profit. Our board members make it a memorable experience when you attend one of our events. We don’t want to make anyone feel like we just want your money. We want you to come have a great time. We know, if you have a great time, then you will definitely be back to our other events. The board is always trying new things. We believe you have to or your events get stagnant. The public shares the same dream as cef, it’s all for the kids!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets cef apart from any other non profit is that we do what we say we’re going to do! Our money goes back into the school district to help teachers and students. Cef has come leaps and bounds from where we were two years ago. We changed what we did and who we were a little and we have don’t nothing but blossomed. This was not easy to do. It took a lot of dedication and time to turn it around.

Crosby education foundation has been around for 11 years this year. We have foundations that have been around 30+ years that are photo copying what we are doing. That is a great feeling that a bigger district than Crosby, is wanting to do the things we do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well Crosby is a small town. I would definitely have to take them to the Crawfish Shack. They have the best crawfish and the owners Dan and Jen Meaux are huge supporters of the foundation. Dan is a board member of the foundation and is over our live auction at our gala. Crosby is called the crawfish capital. If we’re going shopping, would definitely have to go to Southern Routes Boutique in Crosby. Carrie and Jeremy Richards are huge supporters of the foundation as well. Carrie is a board member of the foundation and she throws the best designer purse bingo anyone has ever been to.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Just want to thank and congratulate the cef board. They put a lot of time and effort in a “voluntary” position. We have great members that are ready to jump in and help when and where is needed. Cef has the best executive director that you could possibly have. She has put blood, sweat and tears in our brand!
