We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johnny, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to leave a legacy of love, bravery and inspiration. I hope my life has inspired people to be more fearless, more compassionate and more creative with their own lives. I would love to be remembered as a man with a heart of pure gold and how bravely I fought with my demons, my anxiety/depression while co-existing in this world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a mixed media artist that’s known for creating vivid works of art for celebrities and everyday people. What I’m most proud of is that my artwork continues to inspire so many people all over the world to be creative. What sets me apart from others is my versatility, I don’t have just one specific style of artwork to display and sell, I love to give my viewers something different to look at every time they see my work. Always remembering to create art from the heart. I’ve gotten to where I am professionally by constantly working hard, effectively communicating, networking and staying motivated and inspired to continuously do better. Getting to where I am today has been extremely difficult, but realizing anything that is worthwhile isn’t going to come easy has helped me overcome many challenges in my life. I’ve learned that I have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of my life. I want the world to know that Art is love and Art is life, never give up and avoid pressing pause on your life because there is absolutely no way to press rewind.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A few of my favorite and the most exciting and interesting places I would recommend to a friend(s) visiting the Houston area, would be The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Houston Zoo, the Menil Collection/ Rothko Chapel and The Houston Horror Film Festival/ Horror Pop-Up Market.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank every single person who has always supported me and showed my artwork so much love. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.
