We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Bunch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Building a team has been the most important factor in the success of all my brands. I knew early on that I wanted to build a team of shooters from the ground up. I hand selected and trained each member of my team. In addition to filmmakers and photographers, I have an amazing Studio Manager and Lead Editor that have been invaluable in helping my brands grow and evolve. Over the years, we’ve become like a family and it has been very rewarding to watch each individual learn, grow, and thrive in our creative field.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Across all my brands, one thing holds true: a passion for storytelling. In all my work – wedding, corporate, feature films – the most important thing is the story I (or my clients) want to tell. It’s not just about taking pretty pictures or filming gorgeous footage. Every event I shoot or client I work for, I am looking for what the story is. For weddings, I want to know how they fell in love and why they are choosing to commit their lives to each other. I want to capture every candid moment and tell the story of who they are. For my other filmmaking projects, I want to make sure that no matter what footage I shoot or cool things I do in editing, the story remains my central focus. What I have learned in the process of building my brands is how important it is to have a team. I recognized early on what my weaknesses were and made sure to hire people capable of doing those things. It is important to know your strengths and weaknesses when building any type of business so that you can thrive in the areas you want and have a solid team to support you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When a friend comes to visit, my studio is always the first place I bring them to. I love showing off our space, introducing them to the full-time members of my team, and talking about whatever project we’re currently passionate about. As far as food goes, I would definitely have to take them to Taquerias Arandinas, just down the street from my studio. They have amazing tacos! A great dinner spot to visit would be Jack Allen’s. The food is amazing and it’s always a great dining experience. I also love Main Street in Round Rock, which is where my studio is located. There are lots of great bars and restaurants to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank my Dad, Clint who showed me to never be afraid to try new things and make my own path in life. He led by example as a fellow entrepreneur. Because of that, I never really even thought much about trying to get a job.
