We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan “Jojo” Williamson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan “Jojo”, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Houston, TX, brought up in a family of 6! (2 parents, 2 sisters and an older brother) I was raised in a faith-based home which taught me the morals, ethics and disciplines that have molded this person I’ve come to be. These same teachings are also reflected in the way that I serve my clientele and operate my business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe what sets me apart from other business women is my desire to serve others. As stylists we wear many hats: Stylists, Confidants, Listeners, Peace-givers, etc. However, the root of all successful businesses, is a heart of servitude. The journey to get my business to it’s current state has not been an easy one, but it has been worth it. As unorthodox as it may sound, I’ve made it to this point by learning from mistakes! So often success stories begin and end with where they started and where they ended, intentionally leaving out the lows, the mistakes and the hard discoveries made on the journey between start and finish.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that success did not come without hard work and pitfalls. The determining factor though, was my response to them rather than my reaction. Learning to process through difficult situations, learn from the lesson and do better moving forward.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my father Kelvin Williamson. and grandfather, Willard Mayhan, Sr. They invested into making my dream a reality when it was only in seed form. They, along with many others, believed in my vision before it came to fruition and for that I am forever grateful!
