We had the good fortune of connecting with Joseph Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joseph, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I have endured a lot of negativity in my past and my life. I did not feel sorry for myself. I relied on hard work and dedication, I have used that to propel myself forward, using all of that to keep me going. That is what I will say is my motivating factors behind my success. I have a lot of reasons to make it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is me trying to be all I can be to this craft. I’m versatile. I don’t limit what I can do. I can do comedy drama action etc. all of it, you name it. I’m a stuntman as well. So I don’t need anyone to do it for me.

I got to be where I am by sacrificing things that I cherish and love by self eating my time. I don’t like it but if you don’t sacrifice for anything in this world you won’t have anything. No it wasn’t easy, and it’s still not easy now. However it is all worth it. I overcame the challenges by dealing with it no matter what. I kept pushing no matter how much support I had or did not have. Also I try to stay positive and hope for the best to come. Staying prayed up also has gotten me through many situations.

Lessons that I have learned is to watch who you let in your circle. Gain knowledge that way you don’t get played. Keep getting better at your craft. Also, nobody is going to give you anything, work hard until you don’t have to introduce yourself. Stay humble. Never give up. Love even when you are not loved. All these things are what I try to live by everyday.

What I want the world to know about me is that I am strong hearted, strong minded, a fighter, and generally I’m a good person. I just want to be the best that I can be every single day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was visiting Houston. I’d take him to grooves on Friday. It’s 75 cent drinks, make for a real good time. Maybe a Rockets game or Texans. Seaside lounge and Four wheeler riding. Honestly we talking about Houston, there is plenty to do. I also love Fogo De Chao Restaurant which you should check it out if you haven’t. Amazing place to eat, one of my favorite places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate everything to God. If you take a step he will take the rest. As far as credit in my story goes, I have learned everything I know through college. That’s where I got most of my knowledge from. There are a couple of people that inspired me and have helped me get to where I am and have been there for me along the way while pursuing my dreams, but all the work was done by me.
