We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Greene and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Visual Arts is one of the few things in life that consistently intrigues and motivates me. When I was younger, my fascination started with the endless possibilities of what I could create from my imagination, I really loved that freedom. Now, I enjoy bringing someone else’s vision to life. It’s nice to think I can use Graphic Design to communicate not only my own thoughts and ideas but someone else’s too.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I enjoy completing commissions for people, the reactions from clients when they see their idea in front of them and not in their head are a great thing to hear. A lot of them pass the word along when they hear about an opportunity, whichhas kept the business alive. There are some challenges like miscommunication, time periods with no work or technology mishaps. I’ve had to use past experiences to improve my interactions, switch to working on passion projects when I find the time and just have more patience and back up plans when it comes to my appliances. I would want the world to know that I love what I do and I want use this business for a lot more than just Freelancing in the future, I want to be able to give others opportunities as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would plan a trip for New York. Hang out in Central Park, go museum hopping, or drive out to Coney Island. I know some good corner stores for lunch and there are a few restaurants I haven’t gone to myself yet. I like places that have open space so you get a break from being cooped up inside. Interactive spaces like the Museum of Illusions are always fun too, they make you apart of the fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout all my past freelance clients, my friends and family who always invested in me, helped build my network, and supported anyway they could.
