Hi Julissa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The allure of photography is truly remarkable; it is difficult to find someone who does not appreciate a captivating image. Photography allows one to capture fleeting moments that can never be recaptured, creating a timeless treasure. It evokes nostalgia and enables individuals to revisit cherished memories. My desire is to share in the joy of others’ significant moments, experiencing their happiness as they create lasting memories, especially as my son continues to grow I know the feeling first hand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The photography industry is often described as saturated, a notion that may hold some truth; however, it overlooks the significance of individual expression reflected in each artist’s work. My color palette and editing techniques distinctly set my creations apart from others. Each piece I produce is a manifestation of my personal preferences and artistic identity. The appreciation and resonance my work receives are immensely gratifying, as they indicate that others connect with my vision and aesthetic. I take great pride in maintaining authenticity, refusing to conform to external expectations, and running my business on my own terms. The joy I experience when clients are pleased with their final images, along with the camaraderie and support from fellow photographers, further enriches my journey in this field.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a personal enthusiast of chicken wings, I highly recommend Pluckers as my preferred destination for hot wings. Additionally, one can enjoy a lively experience in downtown Houston by riding electric scooters, which adds an element of fun. There is also a Mario Kart experience available for those interested. Attending a Houston Dynamo game is another enjoyable option.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for my extensive family who have consistently encouraged and supported me throughout the years. My husband plays a crucial role in nurturing my photography journey, while my son serves as my daily source of inspiration. I am also thankful to my parents and siblings, who not only act as loyal clients but also provide invaluable recommendations. Additionally, my cousins, aunts, and uncles contribute to my business by either booking services or sharing my work, demonstrating their unwavering support. I am truly grateful for the robust support system that surrounds me in my photography endeavors.
