We had the good fortune of connecting with Jummai Ghaji and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jummai, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
My name is jummai sanni Ghaji, I am a Nigerian who lives in katy Texas. I am the first child out of 7. I was born with a silver spoon but later in life, my dad lost his job and living became difficult. I had two choices, one is to work hard and help raise my sibblings. And the other choice was to live a care free life and we all end up messed up. I chose the first choice by working hard. This background molded me to who i am today, I became independent at an early age.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is jummai Ghaji, my friend shade ( make it ginger desert) calls me queen of grills, I love to grill and cook. I am most proud of how fast i have grown and still growing. I remember when i just started, I was very shy and lacked confidence, but how i was able to turn my weakness into strength sets me aside.

Along the way, I learnt not to put my self in an uncomfortable situation because i want to help someone else because in the end, I was hurting myself .

I want the world to know that suya on the spot is just getting started, it is a brand that has come to stay because we serve nothing but originality.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have quite a number of friends to give shout out but if i decide to list them all, I won’t have enough space, so I would like to thank all those who believed in me and must have helped me in one way or the other,. I want to give a special shout out to my husband Abdul who is always by my side when grilling on the spot and out of state. I want to thank Eniola Dawodu, you are my Angel on earth. We are opening our store in June for take out and dine in and the address is 3418 hwy 6 S 77082. Ste C
