We had the good fortune of connecting with Just Jaxs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Just, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well at a super young age, the way my life was going I realized hey, they’re gonna count me out and exclude me from everything and I kinda had no choice but I still believed that was the route for me anyway because I can’t see myself taking orders and being bossed around from anyone like the owned me so now I own myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well so many different areas we can consider art but it’s almost like what isn’t art ? Anyway my actual art , besides photography but my digital art I think is amazing. I don’t share alot of it because I usually don’t want ppls feedback or certain energy on something I love and didn’t make for them anyway. It’s another way I like to express myself. If I could draw I would be dangerous lol but I still get my point across digitally. I love that it’s a rare piece . .1 of 1 because it’s don’t exist anywhere else on this planet unless I’m there and I made it . I got an opportunity to do a project for a brand for black history month a year or two ago and I made the whole piece in like a hour and I got paid $1000 and published! After that I seen alot more of my worth . .it was nice to see other ppl saw my worth and loved my art . .it opened my eyes to know that hey I can really get paid from doing the things I love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m from Philly. .you can honestly stay in 1 area or place all day and have the best time ever. I don’t have too many favorite spots, I just introduced ppl to a spontaneous vibe. You didn’t know you can have the time or your life just walking down the street with me but If someone is visiting tho, I would take them to see the landmarks and a popular place ppl love to shop and eat and introduce them to a cheesteak and maybe take them to a rooftop and let them see the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yeah definitely, Shout out to God because it’s been more than enough times where a funeral could have been planned out for me but I prevail and God has led me all the way.
