We had the good fortune of connecting with Karla Blanco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karla, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
patience and constant work you do not have results at the moment you have to be disciplined and believe in yourself

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a dancer, instructor, teacher, Director of El Sabor de Houston Dance Academy specialist in Latin dance specifically Salsa. I like to motivate all those who want to learn the culture with a lot of patience but with a sure step. the challenge has always been the language and the dynamics of the city since the focus is more on work than on the arts many do not have time but there is always possibility. I also train children, it is one of the roles that I like the most because they are the generation that will tell part of the history and culture that more than they can live it

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
downton is one of the best options going through the discovery green the zoo and taking you to the nasa museum, the aquarium and a little removed kemah

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank the support of my family member, it is a fundamental pillar to continue having the focus on my projects, the most important motivation for me is to be able to provide joyful experiences of the Latin culture with a greater focus on salsa dance to the community of Houston and Texas that since my steps began, several organizations such as the Texas Salsa Congress by Ruby Rivera and Houston Salsa Dancers by Mily Ramos, both women, were a great support in my career as an entrepreneur, also a great influence was Salsa Eddy Houston Dance Factory opened the doors of its Dance studio to boot.
