We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathy Tang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks used to scare me but I learned you can’t become successful If you’re afraid to take leaps of faith. It can be uncomfortable at first because with risks come great change. And many times, people are afraid of that change or at least I know I am. But taking risks has brought me so much wisdom and confidence in my life. It definitely has brought out a better new and improved me all around. Overall all I can say is that taking risks is fun and can be challenging, but who doesn’t love a good challenge?!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After working alongside with family for so long I felt confident enough to step out and do my own thing. I wanted to prove to myself that I have what it takes to build a brand within myself and so I opened up a suite. There were times where things weren’t going as planned and I felt like giving up on everything. But I kept positive and reminded myself that with the hard work I put in I will definitely succeed and reap what I sow. I’m glad that I pushed my self to be more outgoing because it has definitely help me in my business. I’ve been able to meet so many great inspiring people through networking and picked up so many new skills/techniques . And with those techniques I’m able to provide the best upmost service to my clients ,making sure they feel like the king/queen they are from the start till the end. What sets me apart from others is my relationship with my clients. “Don’t mix work with pleasure ” so they say , but to me I love it ! I like the personal relationship I build with each and every single one of my client. It makes every appointment special and meaning full.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a foodie so definitely take them to try out some of the new cool and trendy restaurants around town. We can bike around Buffalo bayou Park and maybe stroll through downtown Houston in the evening. Go to cidercade in the heights for some arcade games and cider then head on over to rice village and grab some of the infamous “yo-yos hot dogs”. Perhaps catch a movie at the drive in movie theaters.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my dad, for teaching me everything he knows and opening up windows of opportunity for me at the start of my career. My boyfriend for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone and push my self to be even greater. And ofcourse I can’t forget my lovely clients ! Being able to give them an escape/break from their daily routine to seeing their face lit up from satisfaction after their appointments motivates me to better my craft so that I will be able to keep on spreading good vibes and being the ball of happiness in their day.
