We had the good fortune of connecting with Kay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kay, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
There are two things I’ve learned so far; One is you will hear a lot of “No’s”, especially if you’re a woman in a male dominated industry. Therefore you make your own “Yes.” Once you do, just watch and see all those “No’s” turn into “Yes’s.”
And lastly, patiences is key. Sometimes you will not see your money in return quickly, but scared money does not make money.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO and Talent Manager at Morning After Dark Entertainment (M.A.D.E). Which M.A.D.E ranges from film/television, music entertainment, modeling and athletics. Including we offer Artist Development. Digital Marketing. and Social Media Management services. Kinda all in one thing. We began this year and have had many successes, with the blessings of God. Launching with a clothing brand, to managing artist and models.

As we began, the difficulty was networking. Getting the NAME out there. Houston is known for their entertainment business. Most of the biggest names come from Houston. Therefore, what sets M.A.D.E apart from everyone is GAME.
With all my clients, I like to inform them how it is.
I’m very direct and straight forward. Never greedy, but always working. Strategizing and always coming up with solutions.
M.A.D.E is about their work and always like doing things right, as we like to call it “UNTOUCHABLE.”

Til this day it is still hard getting your foot in the door in already RECOGNIZED AREAS, but never impossible. One thing in media and social network is that when people don’t see results, they get discourage. And that’s one thing we remind our clients that it is a whole different ball game. CONSISTENCY IS KEY.
Although we are still a fresh company, we are excited about new talents and new waves. Which you can wait for coming 2022.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest, I’ve very much a homebody, or traveling. There is only one place in particular that I love for a little chocolate indulgence and that is The Chocolate Bar at Rice University. And not to forget Tout Suite, one of my favorite lounges to relax and work.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is someone I would love to recognize and give credit to, and he is my partner (owner of Manzana Records, Inc). He is the reason I was able to do what I love to do and gave me an opportunity to learn from him, which made me figure out my capability in the music and entertainment industry
