We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla “KayyG.Legacy” Groden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kayla “KayyG.Legacy”, how are you impacting the world?
The sole mission of Opulent Perception is to provide a platform to spread positivity and fulfillment through fashion. We cater to high frequency thinkers and positive thought leaders giving them a platform they can wear their thoughts out loud. The fashion and self development industry has a massive impact on society individually. Putting these two together and empowering your wardrobe, allows the exchange of positive energy without ever having to speak a word. It’s a powerful movement.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’d like to consider myself a creative. I like to conceptualize apparel that empowers the one wearing it and those who see it. I use simplicity yet uniquely powerful typographic designs to meet these standards. The meaning behind my clothing line Opulent Perception, is to have an abundant outlook on life. The persona of the brand brings reason to fashion. Think Einstein meets Gucci. What I am most excited about is how far I believe Opulent Perception can go and how much positive influence the brand can spread. It’s all about the meaning behind the brand which is catered toward a specific group of people…those who seek positivity and a higher awareness. Visualizing everyone in this frequency connecting with the brand is electrifying. I launched Opulent Perception Jan 1, 2020 after completing a business plan course with Baker Ripley, here in Houston. Originally Opulent Perception is not why I signed up but for some reason the idea kept nudging me during the first few sessions. I decided to go with my intuition and here we are today. I would not say constructing the brand and it’s pieces is hard, but it’s also not easy. The most challenging part is learning to troubleshoot problems without frustration and to consistently focus on the bigger picture as the smaller details can seem tedious. You have to undoubtedly love the process. I’m currently learning that all things will not be perfect, and to just follow the flow and trust the vision. I want the world to think and believe in fulfillment when they are exposed to myself and Opulent Perception. I want the world to know that it is possible to live a life of fulfillment and passion and that all you have to do is reach inside of you to experience the connection.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow. To be honest, the support I have around me has so much to do with my success. First, my family. There are no words for the gratitude I have for the family selected for me in this world. I’d like to shoutout my mom, and two cousins, Abrina and Rebecca for being my biggest fans. They are literally always there for me and always have the answers I’m seeking when challenged. I have friends that has never changed on me, Tierra and Dip. They have always been there to love and support me from battling my health to experiencing success. I also want to shoutout Brittany Walker-Craig. We met a little over a year ago and have been universally aligned ever since. Brittany’s spirit is so big and I appreciate how much of that energy she spills unto me as well as her efforts toward the growth and recognition of my brand. It was a true blessing meeting Brittany. I can’t forget Brandey, my high school sweetheart. From the struggles to the blessings, through all the phases and transitions, every battle that I have experience since Brandey has been in my life, she was there holding my hand. Really, I have mentors everywhere. Shoutout to all the random strangers I’ve run into that gifted me with their knowledge even in those 1 minute conversations. Lastly, big shoutout to Eyeconic Television and ConnectionsHTX. This two organizations accepted me in and I have done nothing but prosper and meet other great people from the experiences they’ve provided.
