We had the good fortune of connecting with Keetria Garner-Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keetria, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This process has changed over time but for me, I’ve found that my creative interests are what truly drive the flow of my business and the types of projects I involve myself with. As long as I’m in a space of creating and helping others create, I’ll keep moving forward. It’s when my space is restricted that I typically lose interest and move on.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I launched Style of Business in 2017 to help entrepreneurs, startups, and smaller brands find their voice when it comes to creating brand awareness through marketing and publicity. We’re a bit different because we specialize in consulting and teaching business owners about the PR industry. My goal is to show them how to create their own in-house public relations team and how to effectively develop & execute PR/publicity campaigns. I also host a podcast called SOB: Style of Business The Podcast where I speak with other entrepreneurs from different industries about their ventures and business pursuits; It’s been fun learning how others navigate this space! As an entrepreneur and business owner, this journey has not been without headaches! There have been learning curves along the way and sometimes things don’t go as planned. I’ve learned to be patient and to ask for help when needed — we can’t do everything even though we may think we can. One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken away from managing my business is understanding that the ride is not always smooth. There are peaks and valleys but as long as you move forward you’ll end up right where you desire to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I haven’t visited Prospect Park yet but I heard great things about it so we’d go there! That would be the first stop! I also like the Midtown area. Its urban appeal and the different landscape areas are beautiful. It has a nice balance of nature, art, food, and entertainment so Midtown would be next. And, we would also hit up Krab Kingz in Cypress because I love seafood and they don’t skimp on the plates!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family who has supported me throughout my entire entrepreneurial journey! Thank ya’ll for the love and encouragement, hugs & kisses!!
