We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Nanez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process came from being a stay at home mom and I had a Mexican theme birthday party did dulces enchilados and they were a hit! Then covid started and I decided to try my luck with Family and friends to sell some dulces enchilados. Thankfully they were a hit and my family and friends gave me the confidence to branch out and start a page on Facebook and Instagram for the public.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is definitely a big city with so much to offer but as far as food I would definitely recommend the north side food trucks you can never go wrong with tacos and supporting local businesses. The Houston Rodeo is around the corner and that’s definitely a place a would take someone to enjoy the atmosphere and food! Also popup markets are always fun to shop and have amazing food!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m thankful for the support of my Family & friends because of them my business has branched out… with them sharing my business making a purchase and or recommending my business I can say that the last year it really grew more than I expected. I recently loss a cousin that always showed his support and gave me words of encouragement… This is for him Max Martinez now a angel watching from above Also for my son and daughter they will always be my motivation!
