We had the good fortune of connecting with Kennedy Comito and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kennedy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well at first I didn’t really think about it. I just decided to start an Instagram and share baseball pictures on there, and then everything else just sort of fell into place. I am so glad I did decide to start my Instagram account because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have so many amazing things from it.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting Ken’s Photography was such a spur of the moment idea that I had nothing planned or worked out because I had no idea that it would actually become a business. The hardest part of starting my business was finding the best website builder, and photo sharing sites to use for my business. It took me a while to find the perfect website builder and photo sharing sites, but when I finally found the perfect ones for me at the time it just took off from there. I want people to know that my business is about capturing memories for people to look back on years later. Having memories to look back on after years passed is really important to me, when my dog had passed away we had not taken any good pictures of him, and I really wish we had. One thing that I want people to have and want them to look back on are their pets and family members and all the good memories they had together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Over the years I’ve gone more and more to Minute Maid Park and every time it’s so much fun. I first discovered sports photography at an Astros game, I think photographing sports is such an awesome job to have and if I could, one day I would love to photograph at least one Houston Astros game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people who deserve recognition for my success is my family, they supported me even when I had just started and had no idea what I was doing. As I have grown my family has still been there by my side supporting me, coming with me to sessions, helping me with ideas, and many more things. Other photographers have helped me grow as well, from getting advice from them on website management and other things like editing and posing. Sanora Wilson with Sanora Wilson photography has given me tons of advice and I greatly appreciate all that she has done to help me. Other photographers who have inspired me and helped me along the way are Shea with Shea Morgan Photography, and Evan Triplett, a photographer for the Houston Astros. My family, friends, clients, and other photographers are the ones who have helped me get to where I am today and I could not appreciate all of them more!
