We had the good fortune of connecting with Khrystiana D. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khrystiana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

Thee Princess Polish was founded because my Mommy wanted my brothers (Khrystion and Khaeleb) and I to have choices. She wanted to make sure we never had to compromise our morals or body in exchange for material things from an outside party. In addition, I knew very early on that I wanted to go to “the polish lady”, and was using more of my Mommy’s products than she was, so she knew I needed my own cosmetics and beauty products.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Thee Princess Polish (and Khrystiana) apart from everyone is that I recognize the beauty in everyone, and pride myself on making products that appeal to the beauty in choosing what’s best for you. My Mommy takes special care to study ingredients, measurements, cost, packaging, and everything else that it takes for someone to discover their beauty, and walk in the royalty that they are. Having a company started for me at 4 years old was super exciting, but sometimes I just want to play and not do advertising, but I’m learning that having a company is just like school, when I get my work done, I get to play for more time than it took to work. I see my Mommy working on my lip glosses, nail polishes, and other products, and sometimes she messes up, but she takes a deep breath and tries again, so that teaches me that it takes time to be the best, but you can’t give up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend Milan was visiting Orlando, I would first take her to The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom, so we could get dressed up like Princesses. Then we would have lunch in Cinderella’s castle, and after that we would apply some of our Thee Princess Polish lipgloss, and have the best Disney day ending with fireworks. We would stay at The Animal Kingdom resort and watch the animals from our window every single morning. For the rest of the week we spend our time in the other Disney parks, Clearwater Beach, Daytona Beach, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and Aquatica . We would eat at Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Blaze Pizza, and eat all of the ice cream we want at “happy tastes good” (Dairy Queen).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to credit my Mommy (Keisha), Daddy (Kerron), brothers (Khrystion & Khaeleb), family, friends, and customers for recognizing (and tolerating) the princess in me. I know running this company isn’t always easy, but they help me be the best that I can be. I also want to give a special shoutout to Mini Boss Jade of Jade’s Beautiful Bows for putting my name is rooms before I can even get there. Love you Jade!
