We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Gallon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to own my own business even before I knew what I wanted to do. I’ve always loved all things beauty and I knew I wanted to center
my business around it. A little backstory, I love makeup which led me to skincare and that’s when I decided to go to school to become an Esthetician. Throughout school I knew that my end goal would be to work for myself. Upon finishing school and receiving my diploma in Esthetics I still had a full time job as a teacher’s aide at a elementary school here in Houston. I quit my job of almost 5 years to pursue a career in Esthetics. I started waxing at a very popular spa chain and actually fell in love with what I was doing in this part of Esthetics. I worked there for almost a year but amid the pandemic everything shut down and I had time to think about my end goal which was to start my own business as an esthetician. So I took a leap of faith and took the necessary steps branching out on my own and now I have K’Bella Aesthetics. My very own spa that is a safe space for women to come and leave happy and more confident about themselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
K’Bella Aesthetics is a safe, no judgment zone where ladies can come and enhance their already beautiful selves, and leave more confident. K’Bella Aesthetics offers full body waxing and intimate skincare. So proud to announce that K’Bella Aesthetics will be providing more services in early 2022. In the esthetics field you are constantly learning new things. I’d say my biggest challenge is not overthinking things and wanting everything to be perfect. In the early process of going to school my biggest challenge was working full time and going to school at night on top of being a Mom. But with the help of my long term partner it would have been 10x harder without his support.
I am most proud of just being here at the point that I am today. I am not where I want to be and have many many more goals to reach and fulfill but I’ve came a long way and I am proud of myself for that.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank the ones that are closest to me for their love, support and encouragement along the way. The process was not easy and is still going. I’m still learning new things everyday.
