Meet Kielani Steller | Esthetician & Acne Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kielani Steller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kielani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew I wanted to start my own business when I was little, I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. It really wasn’t a matter of if it was a matter of when. I wanted a space where I could be 100% myself and treat my clients like more than just a number on a booking system. I created a space where clients could feel comfortable sharing their skin concerns as well as being able to open up about anything.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I would say that I’ve always felt a little rebellious when it came to the esthetic industry. I didn’t quite fit in so I made my own lane. I like to say being a business owner was the best-worse decision I ever made. Nobody really talks about how the hunger for making sure your business is successful slowly starts to fade when you finally get to the goal you set for yourself. Then you are stuck with the feeling of “now what?” What comes after you reached your goal. I’ve learned that you should never stop striving, you should never get comfortable because being a business owner comes with a lot of trials and you have to be able to pivot and think on your feet. I didn’t come from a family of entrepreneurs or anyone that had any business sense. Having to learn and adapt are the tools I have that I’m most proud of. Rival Aesthetics was created for everyone. My goal is making sure it’s affordable and people from all walks of life can experience what it feels like to taken care of and seen.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city would definitely be Thu Thu sandwich they have the best Pho and it’s always consistent. I also love the Antique rose emporium, it’s a great little spot to see a beautiful garden, vintage cottage and learn about roses. I mostly find myself at Aldi weekly, I know a grocery store might not seem exciting but it’s a vibe. Anyone who knows me know I’m an avid Aldi shopper and it just something that brings me joy
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely have a lot of support around me that make it possible everyday to be the business owner I am today. My husband cody has always been there to encourage me when the doubts creep in, my family is always there to help at business events and there are two books I’d recommend to any entrepreneur that may need some extra encouragement: profit first by Mike Michalowicz and the entrepreneur Rollercoaster by Darren hardy
