We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierra Gibson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kierra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create a safe space for women to be comfortable with taking the time off to cater to themselves. We deserve to be pampered and cared for. I want all women to know the importance of self care and enjoy the time spent dedicated to that.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a luxury Black-owned wax studio where we specialize in making you feel Lavish. What sets us apart from others is that we educate our clients and provide them with excellent services. Starting this business has had its ups and downs but overall it has been rewarding. The support of my clients and Loving Village has helped me overcome the challenges that I have faced within operating my own business. The greatest lesson that I have learned from this experience is to trust yourself and the process ! I want the world to know that Klavish Wax Studio is the start to self-care & self love .
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot to visit is the historic third ward area which is in the center of Houston. I love to eat and shop at local black own places . There is always events and different activities that take place in this area.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
