We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiki Moneh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiki, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always loved writing music and singing. When I was in 3rd grade I won first place for this poem I wrote about a swan. My dad read the poem and really made me feel like it was the best poem ever. He couldn’t believe the way I wrote about the swan and how I described it. And ever since then I’ve wanted to pursue my artistic career. That motivated me to write my own lyrics everyday.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others, is I like to get personal with each song I make. Usually I write about my life and what I’m currently going through or went through. I pretty much tell my side of the story through music, Hoping people can really get where I’m coming from. I got where I am today with the help of the label CRU. Although those in CRU including myself, had some rocky history, and it wasn’t easy, they taught me a lot and pushed me even more, as an artist. The most important lesson I learned along the way was to never turn your back on the people you started with. They’ve had my back when it came to music on numerous counts. And kept everything private when it came to myself and my music. I want the world to know that Kiki Moneh is not just an artist. I’m a lyrical genius and my pen game is fire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take my friends to the all you can eat seafood buffet, have a spa day at the Marriott, and have food and drinks at a rooftop bar!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad. S/o to him for recognizing my talent at a young age.
