We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Dawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing about my industry that outsiders are probably unaware of is how much time, work, effort and money that’s put into our creations. It’s funny how people think we’re just throwing a few designs on a treat that we have laying around the house, lol. The truth is, some orders can take weeks due to us coming up with details for the theme, other vendors, shipping and the actual time it takes to make the items. Not to mention that we are doing multiple orders, not just one order at a time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am what most people call a treat maker which consists of customizing cookies, rice krispie treats, pretzels popcorn and many other snacks with candy/chocolate coatings and designs. I also bake some of my treats as well like sugar cookies, cheesecake and cakepops. I think what’s going to keep me the most busy is what’s about to happen next. As some know, we have to continue to push ourselves out of our comfort level to reach our goals. So for me to say I’m doing that tells me how much I’ve grown and I’m proud to be able to do that. I’m so excited for the things to come! I would definitely advise you to follow me so you won’t miss out on what’s about to happen.


If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they get here by 10:30am we are going to get Crawfish and right now Hank’s seafood has my attention! Then its a must we go to Dish society and The Breakfast Klub for breakfast/lunch. For shopping I love going to the Fairfield area where the outlets and newly built discount stores are. Lastly, I will always advise you go downtown to see the graffiti district and City Centre for a chill carefree vibe. Now out of all these places I’ve listed my friends still find some way to make me end up doing MOST of the cooking and entertaining. Believe it or not when people come to my place they just want to chill and enjoy themselves in a comfortable safe place which happens to be my patio.


Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family definitely deserves credit when it comes to my story! I started this because of my husband and now I need the family to run the show.
