We had the good fortune of connecting with King Flyz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi King, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Consistency, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to never giving up have been the driving forces behind my success. I believe that staying dedicated and pushing through challenges, no matter how tough, is what truly sets you apart.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart as an artist is my story. Everyone’s journey is different, but for me, my life experiences are deeply intertwined with my music. I pour my struggles, my wins, and everything in between into my songs. I believe that by sharing my journey, I can connect with those who’ve been through similar challenges and maybe even help them feel less alone.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. I faced a lot of challenges, but I pushed through by staying true to myself. I didn’t let the haters or outside opinions sway me from my path. I followed my own heart and vision, even when it wasn’t the popular choice. That perseverance is something I’m proud of because it taught me that resilience is everything.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success comes from not giving up—regardless of the noise around you. I want the world to know that my brand and my story are rooted in authenticity. My music is a reflection of the real me, my experiences, and my dedication to carving my own lane in this industry.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Seattle, so we’ll definitely kick things off with some great coffee. After that, we’ll hit up Pike Place Market to soak in the atmosphere. Later, we’ll catch a Mariners game and explore some of the amazing restaurants around the city. There’s nothing like enjoying the fresh northwest air while we’re at it.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, a big part of it comes down to mindset and staying sharp. I gotta give a major shout-out to 50 Cent’s book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter. That book changed my approach to the game. It taught me how to adapt, how to think strategically—whether it’s in the booth, in the streets, or handling business. It helped me realize that you gotta move smart, not just hard. I’m not just out here hustling for the sake of hustling, I’m playing chess while they’re playing checkers. 50 laid out the blueprint in that book, and I respect that. It’s like, if you really wanna level up, you gotta hustle with intention.
