We had the good fortune of connecting with Kinzey Babineaux and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kinzey, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose my career because it allows me to express my true self. It’s helped me blossom into the person I am today.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There’s been plenty of ups and downs in the career i’ve chosen, but what makes it all worth it is the smile on my clients faces when they leave my chair. At one point, I thought being hairstylist wasn’t for me anymore. I’m so glad I pushed through that bump and stuck it out with doing hair. It really has allowed me to be expressive. I get to do what I love every day. My goal in this career to leave an impression on my clients that make them want to return. And as long as I do that, I’ll know then that I’ve made it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of mine and my husbands/friends go to places to hang out is Sawyer Park in Spring, TX. I’d definitely take them there! I’ve also never tried HeBrews Coffee in Magnolia, but i’m a huge coffee girl so I’d love to go there for brunch to try it out. I also love a little retail therapy and always support small businesses so I’d take them over to Jayden Layne Boutique in Tomball.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are definitely my biggest supporters. They encourage me to always expand my education in my career. I’ve also had coworkers who took me under their wing when I began my career and taught me most techniques that I use every day. Mikayla Sowell, my former coworker, has always been someone I turn to and she continues to support me in my career. Of course I have to give a shout-out to the person who quite literally taught me what I needed to know in order for me to begin my career, my Cosmetology teacher. To this day, I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for me to make sure I become successful. Mrs. Dunn really pushed me to do my best while believing in me even on my worst days.
