Hi Kirrston, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have a natural inclination towards taking risks and embracing challenges, which has been a valuable trait in many aspects of my life, including personal development, education, and entrepreneurship.

The role risk-taking has played in my life often has involved me stepping outside of my comfort zone and being willing to confront uncertainty. It required courage and a willingness to challenge the status quo. My fearlessness and willingness to take risks have been instrumental in my achievements, such as completing college and starting my own business despite limited support and resources.

In both my personal and professional endeavors, taking risks has lead to growth, innovation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. By daring to do things differently and pushing boundaries, I not only challenged myself but also inspired others to reconsider their own limitations and possibilities.

However, it’s essential to balance risk-taking with careful consideration and strategic planning. While embracing risk can lead to great rewards, it’s also important to mitigate potential downsides and make informed decisions.

Overall, my fearless approach to risk-taking seems to have served me well, enabling me to pursue my ambitions and make a positive impact on my life and the lives of others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Creating a specialty Creole seasoning blend with Himalayan pink salt, crafted from my own passion for cooking, sets me apart in the industry. Additionally, my natural aromatherapy handmade oils add another dimension to my brand, catering to health-conscious consumers.

I am most proud of partnering with large retail chains, such as HEB and Walmart Marketplace to sell my seasonings is a significant accomplishment and a testament to my dedication, perseverance, and resilience. I overcame challenges by my willingness to keep going despite facing numerous challenges and rejections along the way.

The lessons I’ve learned, such as the importance of perseverance, positivity, continuous learning, and networking, are invaluable for aspiring entrepreneurs. My emphasis on putting God first and maintaining a purpose beyond financial gain reflects a deeply rooted sense of integrity and altruism.

I want the world to know that Kirrston’s Kollections is not just about selling products; it’s about making a positive impact, inspiring others, and promoting health and wellness. I want my story to serve as a beacon of hope and encouragement for others embarking on their entrepreneurial journey, showing that with determination, faith, and a passion for making a difference, anything is possible. I want to keep shining my light and spreading positivity through my brand and story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show her the best time ever I would want her to have a fantastic mix of delicious food, cultural experiences, and unique activities!

Day 1: Start the day with a hearty breakfast at The Breakfast Klub, known for its delicious soul food and friendly atmosphere. After breakfast, head to Rice Village Farmers Market to explore local produce, artisanal goods, and more.

Day 2: Get creative and spend the evening at Love and Make Candle store, where we can enjoy making our own custom candles. Making candles can be a fun and unique experience to take home as a souvenir of her trip.

Day 3: Take a leisurely stroll through Hermann Park, a beautiful urban green space with plenty of walking trails, gardens, and attractions.

Day 4: Immerse ourselves in art and culture at the Houston Fine Arts Museum.

Day 5: Attend one of BLCK Market’s vending events, where we can support local Black-owned businesses and discover unique products, art, and handmade goods. Finally, head to POST Houston for some good food and drinks.

With this itinerary, my best friend will definitely have an unforgettable week experiencing the best of what Houston has to offer!
