We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKisha Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaKisha, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever made was to share that I had a mental illness. As an entrepreneur, your image is everything. Sometimes what people think of you can make or break your business. Because there is still a lot of stigma and a lack of understanding concerning mental illness, I was afraid that sharing my story would cause people not to want to work with me. I felt my current clients would think I was incompetent and that potential clients would shy away.

What should our readers know about your business?
The LM Experience curates transformative mental health and wellness events for women in business and leadership. What sets us apart is we are committed to curating transformative mental health and wellness events that serve as a beacon of empowerment and community for women. I am most proud of hosting an annual mental health conference for women in business and leadership for the past 5 years.
The LM Experience has been in existence for 12 years. It has not been an easy journey but it has been worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start with breakfast at First Watch. Then a little shopping at the outlet mall on 290 or in the Woodlands. Lunch at Porta’Vino. Maybe take in a comedy show or movie. Then dinner at Taste Bar.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my two children, Kaniecia and Kaylon. They are supportive and loving. They encourage and cheer me on constantly. I love them!
