We had the good fortune of connecting with LaTasha Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaTasha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I took a risk to invest in myself by starting my own business Luxury Smile Spa, LLC. I didn’t know if it would fail or succeed. But I knew I needed a change. I’ve been in the medical field for 26 years, a nurse for 17 years and teaching allied health programs for 12 years. Nursing was my calling and teaching was my passionate. I worked hospital frontline on a Covid unit for 6 months starting March 2020 during the shutdown, It burned me completely out to the point I did not like nursing anymore. I felt unappreciated & overlooked like so many other healthcare workers. From working short staffed, PPE shortage, being looked at as a number not a human. We were highest risk but nobody cared. I was mentally, physically and emotionally drained. Many times at work I would find a secluded place to cry and pray for strength.

I fasted and prayed for a direction. I knew I wanted to be my own boss but still continue to help people. I worked 2 full-time jobs to get my business off the ground. I had paid my dues to the medical field. I just knew it was something out there better for me that would bring me PEACE & joy like nursing use to. I started looking for something outside of healthcare. I took an interest in the teeth whitening business. I researched and followed several operating businesses. I finally reached out to a teeth whitening program in Florida. I flew there and returned home as a Certified Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Specialist. I also obtained my Certification as a Tooth Gem Technician from Atlanta. Still not knowing what path my business would take I continue to believe and have faith in what I prayed from. My first soft opening on Saturday & Sunday I was booked . I did weekend appointments for a month and booked each time. I built a clientele over 100 clients the first 3 months making more money in 2 days working for myself then in 2 weeks working for someone else. So I went full-time. I have recently added V-Steam and Foot Detox services. I will also start selling Yoni & beauty products, Starting October 2021 my services will also be mobile for self-care and parties. I’m also starting Luxury Body Training to help others start their own teeth whitening and gems business. My first stops will be Houston, Dallas & Memphis. This risk was definitely worth taking

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
26 years in the medical field, 17 years of nursing and 12 years of teaching. Single mother of 2 (now adults). I had my breakdowns to get to my breakthroughs. It’s called life.

I’ve learned life takes it’s on route. It’s ok to fall during the process because it teaches you HOW to get up at your own pace. Everyone won’t say yes or agree with your vision. But you stay loyal to yourself. Always dream big. Never limit yourself. Be patient and trust God’s timing. And most importantly it is never too late to start over. Sometimes change is healthy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My hometown is Yazoo City, Mississippi born and raised.
