We had the good fortune of connecting with Latasha Ingram and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Latasha, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m a Native Houstonian, born and raised in the beautiful city of Houston with family from different areas of Lousianna. My southern roots have embedded a great deal of knowledge and tradition within me. I couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for my upbringing. I was a grandparents kind of kid, growing up mostly with my grandparents I quickly learned from all the lessons that were taught through daily encounters. In which I often live by those intricate lessons and experiences!
Being able to reflect on my childhood allows me to see life for what it truly is, my upbringing impacted me to truly work hard for anything I want, and never allow the obstacles we face to hinder what your goal is. Resilience and the sheer will to want to complete something is one of the greatest lessons my grandparents taught me… You have to Always be a person of your word… Sometimes that’s all we have!
My mom would say little sayings, and now that I’m adult I can fully understand what she meant. It’s the core memories that I find myself reflecting on. Without my grandparents and mom instilling morals, respect, compassion and love I wouldn’t be the woman I am today…
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m Tasha’s Baked Goods LLC and I’ve been in business for 10 blessed years! I believe what sets me apart from others is I truly wan to really know my customers, often businesses seem to not take in account that it’s a honor when someone wants to purchase anything from you. I love the relationship and bond I have built with customers over the years… I get share my love for baking and also give customers a piece of happiness whenever they order from me!
Hard work and determination has gotten me this far, I’m not where I would like to be, but I certainly am grateful for God allowing me to flourish tremendously in my business… You also have to be open to learn from others, it is always better to continually learn new techniques and skills to enhance your business. I recommend you to take classes, watch videos and ask questions. You never know what great insight you may gain!
I want the world to know, when you order from Tasha’s Baked Goods LLC, you are getting a dessert baked with pure love and enjoyment… I bake EVERYTHING HOMEMADE, I also am able to share my precious memories of recipes and knowledge I learned from my grandparents and mom. Even though they are no longer living, each dessert made is a piece of their love shared with customers. I’m so glad that through my business I’m able to follow their love for baking and cooking for others… My friends always say, “if Tasha truly likes you, she’ll cook for you”. I think it may be some truth to that statement!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh this is going to be hard, but if my BestFriend was visiting, I would recommend The Breakfast Klub or The Ginger Mule for Breakfast.
Then we head to Black Phlox to enjoy a Wonderful Experience with a candle making class…
For lunch we can stop at Dona Leti’s because the drinks and food is always going to be perfection!
Dinner you can’t go wrong with Juliet’s
And if we just want to have a drink Monkey Tails it is Or any spot that has happy hour.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to acknowledge my friends! I can honestly say that during some of the worst moments of my life, they have stepped in and took on task, prayed, encouraged and supported me through Every Aspect Of my Life!!! They are really the sisters that I need to make it through this life…
My cousins are the ones I can call and we talk for hours. I call it my therapy sessions. lol!!! Our bond is inseparable, the love and support we have for each other really is what family is supposed to be about.
The wonderful aunts and uncles who have made a wonderful impact in my life! They are literally the fabric that hold me together at moments when I can be all over the place…
My siblings, although we don’t talk a lot because we are always busy, when we do it’s nothing but laughter and jokes… I soak every moment up!
