We had the good fortune of connecting with Latasha Solomon Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latasha, how do you think about risk?
The risks that I have taken in my life was like an epitome of stepping out on faith in my new career. I spent over twenty years in the legal world as a paralegal. However I have worked in many areas of law such as personal injury, probate, family and business law. When I took the risk of resigning from my full-time salaried job as a paralegal to operate my tax business on a full time business. It was a risk of not knowing if I would make the sufficient income to operate a business and pay my own personal expenses. Therefore I knew that I had a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management so I knew that I had the education to operate a business. However it takes more than education to operate a business you have to good interpersonal skills and a personality to really like people. As a result, I knew that I had to work harder, to make sure that my business was more competitive than other tax companies. It took many hours of strategizing to make sure that this business represents professional and excellent service to my clients. Simultaneously there is still things that I am learning new things to make my business more successful.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is to me different yes we are a for profit business. Meanwhile we actually care about our clients and the success of their taxes with the IRS. We are honest in all aspects with the clients. If I had to say one thing about being a business owner start a business in something that you have a passion or that you enjoy doing. If you do what is your passion you will do your best at all times to make the business successful because you enjoy what you do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Everyone knows that I love LaBrisas in League City so that would be our first stop for Mexican food. The next day I would take them to a winery for some good wine. I would want my friend to experience the different types of wines and learn more about the variety of wines. Last but not least I would take my friend to visit my grandchildren. Everyone knows that I love my grandkids. I have a saying that I use with them with hand motions, “Gram loves you from the heart to the sky”.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to personally give a shout out to my husband and children for being one hundred percent supportive to my decisions in this business. Also I am thankful to God for giving me courage to endure all of my obstacles in life. Many of my family and friends know that I am love to buy and write in journals. However in my writings I would express my inner thoughts and hurt that I would carry inside of me. I would never let my actions or character affect my daily activities of my life. My son had a major life changing event at 19 years old; his kidneys failed him. He was on dialysis for six years with many major life changes. He never gave up always tried to make the best out of any situation. When he received his kidney transplant three years ago, he was grateful but was still showing compassion for the donor family that lost a loved one. As a result, his courage gave me strength that I never knew that I had as a parent because when he would hurt he would try to hide the pain to protect my pain of seeing him hurting. So this gave me so much ambition to be a loving person and exemplify the same type of love and strength in anything that I purse in life. As a result, I love Joel Osteen book “You are Stronger than you Think”. It inspires you to go bigger, go bold or go beyond your limits.
