We had the good fortune of connecting with LaToya Lovelady and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaToya, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my consistency to show up everyday and my ability to adapt to change. No matter what goes on I show up and I give my best to all of my clients. This also helps with my client retention and my client experience. I adapt to change because I know that change is always happening and there is nothing you can do about it but to accept it and make the necessary changes to keep moving too.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Born in Germany but a Houstonian at heart I has always had a vision and passion for Beauty. As a young girl I would always Glam up my dolls. As I became older I realized that my love for hair was more than just a hobby. Styling my family and friends was the new norm. ​I studied cosmetology in high school at Barbara Jordan High School in Houston,Tx where I received my Cosmetology License and became a entrepreneur in the Beauty Industry. ​ I first worked in a salon full-time for a few months to start gaining her clientele. But, the salon owner closed the doors and I was faced with the reality that I would have to quickly figure out a plan to keep moving forward. Leaning on Faith and very few clients I decided that the best thing to do was to start working from home as an in home hair salon. I worked Fashion Shows, Photoshoots, Video Shoots, Hair Shows and Traveled for Special Occasions. While working from home for 3 years it allowed me to gain a bigger clientele and purchase all of the equipment and materials that I needs for a salon! With Hard work, Dedication, and Faith in God, On May 1, 2017 I opened my very first salon called Glam24 Beauty Bar. In April 2020 during the pandemic I was forced to close my salon due to a City shut down. During this time I decided to take my career in a different direction but in the same industry, so I founded my company Beauty Boss By Toya Nicole LLC. Beauty Boss By Toya Nicole is a Business Consulting company located in Houston, Tx that helps Beauty Professionals build and grow their beauty business so they can book more clients while increasing their monthly income through Email marketing, Social Media and Customer Experience. I offer Private Coaching services where we work together with the client in a one on one setting to plan, strategize, and brainstorm ways to grow their business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had someone visiting the area I would definitely take them to Food & Fun at Jaxx Grill Bowl & Shoot Pool at Main Event Mini Vacay with water at Margaritaville in Lake Conroe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother Phyllis Lovelady. She was a woman of Intellect, Kindness, Faith and Perseverance.
