We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Urrutia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, what do you attribute your success to?
Teamwork makes the dream work. Helping each other makes the change. Offering a better service to our clients is only possible with the help from each other. Tacos Toreados can be from 4 people to 6 people that work together to provide our service around Houston. Many times, we are afraid to ask for help but getting that extra hand is the key to success.

What should our readers know about your business?
I believe that Tacos Toreados is on the way to success, we are moving forward day by day. The most important factor to get there is providing fresh food to our clients. Making our tacos fresh and delicious is the way to success. Tacos Toreados is a taco catering service that provides fresh food to any type of event all around Houston.

Instead of having our customers come to us, we go to them and serve them in their special events. Planning an event can be stressful, but our job will make it easier. We are there to help and provide food for their guests to enjoy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have so many favorite places in Houston, but definitely I will take them to try my families food business, like El Regio Taqueria my dad’s taco truck that has been servicing for more than 10 years. Surfside Beach is a must I love to enjoy the beach and how beautiful it is.
Kemah is a beautiful place to hang out with the family and enjoy different activities they have.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Jose Juan Herrera plays a big role in Tacos Toreados, He is ready to support me on this new journey of running a small business. My aunt Olga Ortiz is my business partner and a big part of Tacos Toreados, without her many things would not be possible. My mom and her husband Ramon for guiding us and sharing all of their tools for Tacos Toreados to succeed. My family for always being there and believing in our dream.
