We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Glasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be that I genuinely cared about the wellbeing of others and truly made a difference by inspiring others to tap into their natural talents and abilities. It’s important to me that I be remembered as someone that treated others with respect, exhibited humility and compassion while building relationships and accomplishing something memorable that ultimately helped others to grow personally and professionally.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Legendary Resumes & Career Services, LLC. is a resume writing and career services company where we prepare our clients for professional excellence at each stage of their career journey by skillfully crafting high-quality ATS-approved resumes, career documents, and providing interview preparation coaching.
I’m most proud of the moments after completing a project and see the finished results exceeded my clients expectations. I’m grateful for the opportunity to provide not only helpful career documents to my clients but also provide them a sense of hopefulness that their next opportunity is right around the corner.
I’ve gotten to this point in my business due to true hard work and perseverance, alongside of the immense support of my family, friends, amazing clients and mentorships of other business owners and industry organizations who have provided me with so much knowledge and inspiration. It definitely hasn’t been easy. Building a business is a slow steady process that you have to make sure to show up for each and every day, even when you don’t feel like it. When challenges arise, I rely heavily on prayer. I believe that God allows us to go through challenges to make us stronger, to build muscle for what we claim we want in life and I face challenges and adversities with that mindset. A challenge is just a problem that you haven’t figured out the solution to yet, the key word is “yet”. I tell myself that there’s always a solution and that I have all the resources I need to figure it out.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned this far is that networking and connecting with other like-minded individuals is the key to growing your business. It’s refreshing to connect with other people who you can relate to when it comes to running your own business. I realized that it’s okay for me not to know everything. There’s so much to learn from other people and it’s important to take the time to be open minded and continue to learn as much as you can about your industry and other business aspects.
I want the world to know that my brand and business’ goal is to inspire and encourage others to believe in their natural talents and abilities, to provide a sense of hopefulness that you hold the power to the future you want to create.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop, FOOD! We would go to all of my favorite restaurants and food trucks around the city: The Breakfast Klub, Dish Society, Urban Eats, Lucille’s, Nobu, Savoir, Lotus Seafood, StickTalk Cajun Hibachi, Postinos, The Waffle Bus just to name a few.
We would hang out and grab a few drinks at Present Company, McIntyre’s Downtown, Better Luck Tomorrow, Lost & Found.
We would also visit a few museums as well. I would have to say the most fun things or places to check out in Houston would be the brunch scene. When it comes to a good brunch Houston is UNMATCHED! You really can’t go wrong with a brunch in Houston.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to a few people. First would have to be my parents, they have provided me with immense support throughout my life and their support is something that I don’t take for granted. I would also like to dedicate my shoutout to the Society of Elite Resume Writers (SERW), the individuals in this organization are amazing and I appreciate all of the mentorship and support I’ve received in this group and others in my industry. I continue to learn from them daily through multiple avenues and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such an amazing group. I also want to shoutout Ebony Thomas of The Girl Boss Blueprint and Jasmin Soto of Jasmin Services. They have both provided me with so much information and insight to strategizing and scaling my business and I am so appreciative of the knowledge I’ve gained by connecting with them.
