We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been a creator so it only came natural to start a business around something that truly gave me joy. Of course it took a little push from a great friend to make it official but I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity after a layoff to pursue a career that allows me to express myself creatively.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began a career in Pharmacuetical Sales about 4 years ago. I am naturally a talker and a relationship builder so this was a great transition from the financial industry. I believe one thing that sets me apart is my love for people and eagerness to help others. One of my proudest moments during my career was being awarded one of the top awards within my organization after only being with the company for 1 year. Sales can be challenging but one thing that I feel keeps me going is understanding that behind every “no” a “yes” is around the corner…persistence and a positive attitude will take you a long way. I would like the world to know that Interior Design by Elle Rose was born from of taking a leap of faith, from creating birthday cards as a child, to providing patients with options on how to care for themselves, to being able to do something that is a passion. All things are possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

We would eat and drink ourselves into a comma! I am absolutely in love with the food scene in Houston!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
He’s going to kill me for this but Jerry Autry gave me the push I needed to start this business. He literally said “okay so I’m going to commission your first painting, send me some ideas, this is the color scheme of my new home…let’s go!” Lol! I would also like to dedicate this to my friends and family members that listened to me as I was decorating my own home, prayed with and for me, and continue to show love and support.
