We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Keef and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly I was a bartender for years at upscale martini bars and then when Covid shut everything down I decided to turn my focus towards my dream! I have an associates degree in photography and arts but pushed it to the side to bartend for awhile since it was good money! I wanted to be with my kids more and do more of what I love which is photography! I am so lucky to have the best clients in the world they help my dreams come true every day and A lot of my clients have become like family!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I absolutely love photography I love getting to capture special moments for people and getting to know my clients on a deeper level! I feel like one thing that is special about me is that I really truly do care about my clients if it means showing up early, staying late, bringing crazy props, or anything else I’m always down for a good time! I really am proud of how far I have come in just a few years I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me! My business has skyrocketed since the beginning! The community and my customers have been so supportive and always are sharing my business! Everyone always says owning your own business is hard work, and it is but when you love your work you’re happy to do it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I get to go out and about I love to go to Astros games they are such a fun team to watch especially through the playoffs! I Love to eat at Vic and Anthony’s, Opus Bistro, Jackie’s brick house and anywhere on the Seawall! If your visiting Texas the Texas renaissance festival is definitely one of my favorite places to be you will frequently catch me in my barbarian garb!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank and give credit to my stepdad who stepped in at a critical time in my life and help me afford college so that I could get my degree in photography!
