We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe the biggest hurdle any of us face it just starting. Just do it. Pick up the phone, record, and post. There are so many different individuals who find ways to captivate an audience in different ways. I think people believe they can’t do it because they don’t have the right phone, or the right lighting, or maybe they aren’t as preppy as other influencers. While this is surely something to look into when you start your journey, you won’t know exactly what you need until you begin. It’s surely a risk, and may feel a little embarrassing at times, but keep going. Your audience will find you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The journey of content creation is one that is different for each individual that starts. Originally, I began with just food in Houston, but shortly found my way to activities in Houston like 4-wheeling, candle making, and even spas. I found that truly connecting Houston with more than what it’s know for allowed for me to set myself apart for the other lovely Houston influencers. Of course as a content creator, much of that journey is determined by the individuals supporting you. But if you post, your audience will find you. It’s not easy to start, and its not easy to start again. But what’s worse is having to stop. It was fairly easy for me to begin my journey as I love food, but I did have moments of burn out, procrastination, and wanting to quit. During this time I realized that I needed to return to the simple joys of just eating food to enjoy food. Instead of worrying about views or likes. This allowed me to bring the fun back into creating and provide my audience a more genuine feel. In turn, this allowed me to grow. Sometimes we do need to start over, but other times we just need to start at the beginning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Omg I love this question! To begin with, I would stay at the Marques with it’s Texas shaped pool that is heated year round. It is right in down town and super close to so many dining areas in the city. We would have to do Breakfast at Travelers Table for some of the most unique cuisine. As the menu is constantly changing there’s no telling what we may get. After we would head over to Be Elevated for candle making and grab a sip of authentic Italian wine next door at Dante’s while we wait for the candle to cure. We Can also get a light bite here! Finally, we should end the day at one of Houston’s popups. This will change depending on the season. We may go to the largest bounce house ever at Funbox or go play mini golf the Drunken Clam Family guy popup. Diner would surely have to be at Fry Guys for some of their chicken parmesan fries.
For my more adventures friends, I would start with brunch at the Flying Biscuit for their strawberry cheesecake French toast. Next I would head out to the Houston Interactive Aquarium and Zoo. This is perfect for families and those of us that want to get up close with some of our zoo friends. After that, I would have us head out to the east side and ride ATVs with HTown ATVS. This is a super fun experience that’s going to get us muddy and maybe even a little tired. After a shower ad little nap, a nice lunch or dinner at Bocca would be perfect to begin winding down the day. For my upscale babes I would recommend the new Houston restaurant Se7en.
There are to many fun hidden gems in Houston Texas, I could probably do an itinerary for each type of person. Maybe I will…

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shout out to the lovely creators that I have met along the way and my friends who have helped and encouraged me from day one. I truly could not do this without them. Building genuine friendships with creators such as Yana, owner of TheMixyIntrovert, and Ariel owner of 0830 Vines wine company, has helped each of us grow and develop in our purpose together. There are so many other creators that have helped along the way, and I am grateful for each one. I am also so thankful for my friends, many of who you’ve seen and will see in my videos, for continuing to support me and even connecting me with other companies. The biggest shout out of course goes to my Houston babes following my journey and supporting with every like, comment, repost, and share. They are the real MVP.
