Meet Laurie Perez | Houston Commercial Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laurie Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laurie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our brand is consistency. Our clients come back for the same quality and care we provide time after time. If they love a lighting pattern or photo edit, we have to be sure to provide the same consistency on each job which means really knowing our lighting and camera. Knowing our craft is what keeps their brands looking consistent.

What should our readers know about your business?
I often hear from my clients that my lighting and posing is what makes me stand out. It has been years of education and passion for learning photography that makes us excited to share our talents with others. With my combined degrees in photography and communication, I not only create a powerful visual story for the client, we break down the brand and their marketing visuals to make sure it all works together. Nothing makes us happier than elevating a client’s brand and story. Although it hasn’t been the easiest journey, especially getting my start after losing everything in a fire except my camera, it has been the most rewarding. 

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is known for its diverse food and culture so we are definitely getting a variety of foods. Foods like traditional Mexican, Thai, Indian, vegetarian and of course Texas BBQ. Because I am a photographer, and all that eating we will be doing, we would have to do a few walking photo tours of the city. Places like Downtown Houston, Memorial park, Montrose, Arboretum, Second ward with all its culture, a few abandoned buildings that I love, and some underground parks that have the corkiest of styles.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so thankful to all the small business owners who support our business.  Alira Salon, My First Thursday Peer group, my interior designers, branding and portrait clients just to name a few. We thank all of them for trusting us with their photo goals.
