Meet Leah Simone | Party Planner & Balloon Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Simone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been a go getter and had an entrepreneurial spirit! When I finally found something that I was passionate about, I knew I could turn it into a business of my own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Sweet Setup started with a love for celebrating people and turning ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. What makes me different is that I don’t just do balloons — I design full experiences. From balloon garlands and backdrops to floral boxes, room décor, and custom cut-outs, I give clients everything they need to bring their vision to life.
It wasn’t easy getting here. I had to teach myself a lot, make mistakes, and figure out how to balance creativity with running a business, working, and having a family. But every challenge taught me something — like how important it is to keep showing up for myself, stay organized, and value my time.
What I’m most proud of is seeing the look on my clients’ faces when they walk into their setup. That’s what I love. Every “wow” moment reminds me why I started.
The Sweet Setup is about more than balloons — it’s about making celebrations personal, stylish, and unforgettable. Whether it’s a birthday, a shower, or a surprise hotel room setup, I want people to walk away feeling like their vision came to life in the most beautiful way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely go eat almost everyday. Breakfast Klub is my favorite breakfast spot. I’ve also grown to like Oysters and have been obsessing over them so Loch Bar would be my go to for oysters then I love Ten Sushi. We would go to the gym or trail because Houston has some really nice parks. There are some new rooftop restaurants and lounges in the city that I’ve been wanting to visit so we would definitely do that as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of course, God. Without him I would be nothing. Next, my family for always encouraging me to do what makes me happy. Lastly, my baby’s she is my motivation to keep doing what I’m doing because ultimately it’s all for her.
