We had the good fortune of connecting with Leona Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi leona, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my thought process wasn’t just about launching a business it was about breaking cycles. I grew up seeing people settle, carry unhealed trauma, and live in survival mode. I knew I couldn’t change the past, but I could help shape what comes next, for myself and for others.

Starting my business was about creating a space where people feel seen, empowered, and reminded of their worth. I wanted to build something rooted in faith, healing, and purpose. A platform that reaches people who don’t just need another product or service, but a reminder that they were born for more. I didn’t want to just succeed I wanted to disrupt generational strongholds and help people grow into who they were always meant to be.

So the real fuel behind my business was legacy. Not just what I could leave behind, but what I could live out loud starting with myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work lives at the intersection of healing, creativity, and impact. I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur combining my background as a trauma educator, creative professional, and public servant to help people rise above limitations and create meaningful change.

I currently serve in two specialized units within law enforcement while also running a creative business that includes photography, videography, graphic design, and DJ services. I’ve led impactful community events like the Crush Endo Awareness Walk, and spoken on platforms that empower youth, women, and purpose-driven leaders.

I’ve captured everything from weddings to business launches, and have helped clients elevate their brands through visual storytelling and design. I’m proud to be trusted by so many to bring their visions to life.
As a life coach, I also help individuals work through mindset blocks and step into the fullest version of who they were created to be.

None of this came easy. I’ve had to navigate grief, self-doubt, and moments of public criticism but I kept going. What carried me was my faith, my vision, and the deep desire to break generational strongholds starting with myself.

The lesson? You don’t have to choose one lane. You just have to be clear on your why.
As Kingdompreneurs, we don’t have to limit ourselves to one title or one gift. We’re called to multiply what God has placed in our hands whether it’s coaching, creating, serving, or speaking. It’s not either/or. It’s this and that with purpose, excellence, and impact.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was coming to visit, we’re not doing the typical tourist stops we’re going where the real energy is good food, deep vibes, and creative spaces that feed your soul.

First up: Orlandeaux’s Café. That’s the heart of the city on a plate. The food? Unmatched. It’s one of those places where you sit down for lunch but end up staying just to take it all in.

We’d definitely tap into our creative side with a night at Artipsy -, Great music playing It’s always a whole vibe.

Then, we’re heading to Paint Out Loud Canvas – especially if it’s the third Friday of the month, because that’s when I DJ live. It’s more than a paint night it’s expression, music, community, and energy all in one space. People leave feeling refreshed.

Another must is Words Over Lattes – one of the dopest spots in the city for open mic, live poetry, and soul-filled performances. It’s where truth is spoken, talent is raw, and the atmosphere always leaves you wanting more.

We’d round the week out by supporting a few local spots, grabbing coffee or tea somewhere peaceful, and catching up on life. Simple. Real. That’s how we do it around here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I could write this in bold and underline it, I would because I didn’t get here by myself. I want to give honor to God first! Every step I’ve taken has been guided by His grace, even when I didn’t fully understand the assignment.

To my family and close friends -thank you for your prayers, patience, and love. You’ve been my anchor in seasons where I could’ve drifted. You’ve reminded me of who I was when I started to forget.

To my mentor, Dr. Dharius Daniels – your wisdom, teaching, and example have shifted how I see leadership, purpose, and the power of clarity. You’ve poured into my life in ways that continue to overflow into others.

To every person who spoke life into me when I was questioning everything to those who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, you’re part of this story.

And finally, to the people I get to serve through coaching, creative work, and this movement we’re building. You are the “why” behind my “yes.”
