We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Jimmerson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to provide a service that would help those who need help. My credit restoration company, Realty Prepared Credit Services, LLC. was designed to help 1st time home buyers achieve the credit scores they need to purchase a home. It also helps realtors sell more homes, instead of having to turn clients away. My non-profit, GOD Sees You Outreach Ministry was designed to build the community and underserved/displaced veterans. Therefore, in my thought process, I considered a need, made a plan, and full filled that need.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Realty Prepared Credit Services LLC and Realty Prepared Homes LLC. I’m also the founder of GOD Sees You Outreach Ministry. What sets me apart from others is that I am building sort of a one-stop shop. I really wanted to see the average consumer who feels as though they would never buy a home achieve homeownership. I have been a realtor for 15 years and have serviced many first-time home buyers that didn’t know how important a strong credit profile is when making such a large purchase.
I also have a love for the people. This is why I began GOD Sees You Outreach Ministry. One of our 1st programs was to feed the local homeless and under-served veterans. We have now began to provide food, clothing, and necessities to the local low-income community to be a helping hand.
I have achieved where I am today in business by always putting GOD first, helping/giving rather than taking, and a solid business plan and vision.
There have been many challenges throughout the years. There have been climate changes in the real estate market, low profit (in the beginning), and problems funding the venture. There also have been wasted finances on ideas to grow the company that didn’t matter in the growth. To overcome this, I had to re-evaluate my process and work on small areas at a time. Once one area was perfected and the systems were in place is when I was able to move on to the next idea. Chewing little bits at a time.
Along the way, I have learned not to always follow everyone’s advice and to trust the process. Success is not achieved overnight.
I would love for the world to know that there are people out there that really care about helping others achieve their dreams. And this is the main moral and values that we exhibit in our company. We Bless the Dream of Homeownership!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually, I’m in the stage of my life that I really like to enjoy my family, my children and grandchildren. I love to shop at the Houston Premier Outlet and the Woodlands mall. I love various restaurants in the area like Taste of Texas and little locally owned spots like Mezzanotte Ristorante. I would most likely take a friend downtown, Galleria, Kemah, and Galveston Beaches.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I would like to give thanks to GOD because without HIM, I would not be able to do the things I do. I would like to give thanks and a shoutout to my mother for always being that example of hard work and dedication to whatever she put her mind to. Also, for being there to always help me, albeit advice, financial, or even someone to help me with my children while I pursued my career choices. I would also like to thank my husband for helping me achieve my dreams and for being so supportive through the journey.
