We had the good fortune of connecting with Lloyd Parks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lloyd, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
“I was born and raised in Bay City, Texas, a small, tight-knit town where community, hard work, and resilience shaped everything. We didn’t have much financially, but we were rich in values that mattered: perseverance, grit, and the drive to make something out of nothing.
Summers were spent working on a sod farm, where I learned firsthand what real work looked like—long hours under the relentless Texas sun, moving sod, pushing through exhaustion, and understanding that nothing worth having comes easy. That experience taught me to take pride in the grind, to show up even when it’s tough, and to always give my best with what I had.
At 16, I took a leap that would redefine my future—I enlisted in the Army, heading off to basic training before my senior year of high school. That experience sharpened my discipline, resilience, and purpose. It pushed me beyond my limits and showed me I was capable of more than I ever imagined.
Growing up in a small town with limited resources taught me to think bigger, move with intention, and never let circumstances define my potential. Those lessons are the foundation of everything I do today. Whether on the sod farm, in the Army, or building HUES BOA, the mindset remains the same: success isn’t about where you start—it’s about the work, the vision, and the determination you bring to every step forward.”

What should our readers know about your business?
HUES BOA: More Than a Brand—A Movement of Boldness, Unity, and Self-Expression
In a world where fashion trends come and go, HUES BOA stands for something deeper—a movement that blends bold self-expression, unity, and empowerment. As a division of Bubba Jr. Brands, Inc., HUES BOA was created to remind people that embracing their individuality is the ultimate power move.
Founded by Lloyd Parks Jr., the visionary behind the brand, alongside his brother and Vice President, Derek S. Parks, HUES BOA isn’t just about clothing—it’s about owning who you are and showing up unapologetically. With over 45 years of combined experience in design, manufacturing, and leadership, Lloyd and Derek have built a brand that speaks to those who dare to dream and move boldly toward their vision.
What Sets HUES BOA Apart?
At its core, HUES BOA stands for “Heaven Utilizes Every Shade”—a powerful statement that celebrates diversity, individuality, and the beauty of every unique journey. Each shade represents a story, a struggle, a triumph. HUES BOA is about embracing all parts of yourself—your past, your present, and the future you’re creating.
What makes HUES BOA different? Authenticity. Passion. Purpose. This isn’t just another streetwear brand; it’s a lifestyle that encourages people to step into their full potential, express themselves fearlessly, and never shrink for anyone.
The Journey: Overcoming Challenges & Staying True to the Vision
Building a brand isn’t easy—nothing worth having ever is. Lloyd and Derek have faced their share of challenges, from navigating the complexities of the fashion industry to making sure every piece reflects the brand’s core values.
“Starting and growing a business is demanding, but I’ve learned that self-care is just as important as the hustle. You can’t pour from an empty cup,” Lloyd shares.
Derek echoes this, emphasizing that balance is key. “We’re not just building a business; we’re creating a legacy. And to do that, we have to take care of ourselves and our team.”
HUES BOA is rooted in resilience and intention—every design, every message, every piece serves a greater purpose: to empower individuals to own their story, embrace their authenticity, and move boldly in the direction of their dreams.
The Mission: A Brand That Stands for More
HUES BOA isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling powerful, confident, and unstoppable.
Lloyd and Derek’s mission is to create more than just apparel. They’re building a global community of individuals who believe in themselves, who refuse to conform, and who wear their confidence as boldly as they wear their clothes.
“HUES BOA is a mindset. It’s about knowing that your story, your shade, your journey—it all matters.” Lloyd states.
As HUES BOA continues to grow, Lloyd and Derek remain focused on staying true to their values, pushing creative boundaries, and inspiring the world to live fearlessly.
“This isn’t just fashion. This is a movement. And we’re just getting started.”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“So many people, experiences, and global influences have shaped my journey, but if I had to spotlight two individuals who had a profound impact on my success, it would be Jim Cavaricci of Z. Cavaricci and Harold Dyne.
Jim Cavaricci’s mentorship was pivotal. He saw potential in me before I even fully saw it in myself. His guidance, belief, and unwavering support gave me the confidence to push past challenges and set my sights higher. Jim didn’t just offer career advice—he emphasized the importance of staying true to myself, trusting my vision, and always striving for excellence.
Harold Dyne, on the other hand, taught me what true resilience looks like. After losing millions and his business, he didn’t just recover—he rebuilt, creating one of the largest trim companies in the USA. His story is a masterclass in perseverance, and his wisdom continues to shape my approach to business and life. Harold didn’t just offer guidance; he shared invaluable life lessons that remind me success isn’t about never falling—it’s about getting back up, learning, and coming back stronger.
While many people have influenced my path, Jim and Harold stand out as mentors who truly shaped my trajectory. Their belief in me, their lessons, and their support have been instrumental in my journey. For that, I’m beyond grateful.”
