We had the good fortune of connecting with Londen Underwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Londen, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business originally started as an image consulting company. While working with clients, I observed how their self-esteem and confidence affected the outcome of how they felt when shopping. I realized that the clients with lower self-esteem and confidence, would not look in the mirror or did not believe that they should purchase attractive clothing because of the way they looked. I found myself mostly encouraging and coaching them during shopping trips and fittings to see the beauty within and out. After receiving my Master’s in Human Service Counseling: Life Coaching, I wanted to revamp my business into an organization that provides services and techniques to improve individuals’ overall quality of life through personal style, goal setting, and self-esteem. Our vision is to enrich our clients’ overall value of life by enhancing their self-awareness and confidence in the areas of life management and style.
What should our readers know about your business?
I feel what sets Emerald Rising apart is all of the services and programs we provide. We offer individualized services to meet the need of every client and organization. I am most proud when seeing the confidence change in clients well after services have ended. I got to where I am today by faith and perseverance. The journey as not been easy, but I keep going because I know that my purpose is to touch and change many lives.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Being that I am still new to the city and still exploring, I only know of a few places. If it is a Friday, I will take my friend to happy hour at a restaurant in the City Centre, such as the Yardhouse or General Public. Afterward, we can walk around and do a little shopping. For the night scene, we will go to Alley Kat to listen to some live music and dance the night away. The night will end with us getting Chicken and Waffles at the Breakfast Klub.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out DB Creative Agency for designing the Emerald Rising logo and website. I will also like to shout out my friends and family for all of their support during this journey.
