We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison & Cameron North and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison & Cameron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We originally baked as a side hustle in college and we thought nothing more of it. When COVID happened, our lives changed drastically for everyone. We both lost our jobs from COVID so we figured why not bake more things and take it serious to gain more clients. We started blowing up on twitter and the rest is history.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing is easy at all when it comes to starting your own craft and business. Your craft is something you can’t easily explain to others because not everyone is going to see that beautiful painting you did except you. Being creative is something that comes from your heart, your soul. you’re putting your all into it. Everyone doing the same thing business wise or way ahead of you so it’s like a thinking process, “what can we do to gain an audience, how can we catch attention?” We thought of the idea to make cheesecakes you normally don’t see for fun and yes we received quite the backlash from our own community but it was them who helped us gained customers from other people by putting their negative input. We got here mainly from social media and also my hbcu with the endless support. Our story is something we can’t just tell everyone, you have to see it front row, you have to taste it, you have to watch to see how far we came.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely tell my Bestfriend to go to these places. – Parma
– Tastebar
– Front porch pub
– Rooftop Cinema Club
– Cidercade
– Marquis II
– Tamashi Ramen
– Woodrow’s
– Smashed & Clay
– Gloria’s Cuisine
– Post Houston
– Dreamwingz
– Grooves
– Poppa Burger
– Tornado Burger
– Chimac
It is so many places I can name but those are some great places we been to and had a great time and experience

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Major major shout to our close friend Trinity. Trinity is so supportive and helpful and always there. Big shoutout to PV! Without the support of my school, we definitely would not be here. We also want to thank our family and especially our parents for bragging like normal parents do when it come to their kids. Thank you to our regular customers who buys our desserts, and anyone who supported us from day one! We love you all.
