We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Juarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maggie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success was letting go all my fears and simply jumping into making my dreams come true
Friends and family would always say creativity and design come naturally to me and that it goes hand in hand with my spontaneity and outgoing personality. I’ve always envisioned a life of entrepreneurship.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up I always felt that God had something special and unique for me to do on this earth, I’ve always felt that niche as you can say that there was something more for me. In my mind I figured I was going to touch people’s lives from working in the healthcare industry, but never in a thousand years did I predict I would have my own business as a balloon artist
It has definitely not been an easy or smooth transition, getting your work recognized is the biggest and hardest part. but as a mother of 3 little babies, they are the reason why I aspire to design bigger and better creations.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Houston! Houston has such a plethora of food, dining and activities that I mean there is so much you can choose from. I will say that living here for most of my life I still haven’t even hit a notch into all the places!
Let’s say it was my best friend’s first time in Houston I’d take her to Caracol Mexican restaurant for some delicious food, then we’d hop on the water trolley and enjoy some delicious cocktails at Bar Louie at Katy Texas. We might take the kids to Discovery Green. We would certainly take our husbands to some of my favorite breweries, Buffalo Bayou Brewing, Frost town Brewing and Karbach Brewing Co (We’d have to get their Wings!!). And of course I’d take her to Space Center! A most if you are visiting Houston for sure!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give all the credit to God who gives me the strength to fulfill my purpose and dreams. Second, I would like to recognize my husband and my mother for being my support system. My husband is the best business partner I could have and the best person who has given me encouragement throughout this process and for not letting me give up (I’ve tried a few times). For loving me on days where I know I’m completely unlikeable. For picking up the slack where I fail on the work/life balance. Not only for taking care of kids, but for taking care of me as well. None this would have happened or would be possible without him. I couldn’t have picked a better partner for this crazy ride.
