Hi Mandy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From the moment I embarked on my journey in cosmetology school, I was fueled by a dream to establish my own business. My passion has always been deeply rooted in not just the art of beauty and styling but in the joy of uplifting others. There’s a unique satisfaction in helping people enhance their self-esteem and in supporting them to reach their personal and professional goals. Initially, I embarked on a path of learning and growth, spending over a decade working under experienced mentors for over 10 years. This period was crucial in honing my skills and understanding the nuances of the industry. After gaining substantial experience, I took the leap to open a modern studio adjacent to my home. The overwhelming response and growing clientele in just two years was a clear indicator that it was time to expand. Launching only 2 weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic posed unique challenges, but our resilience and quality of service led not just to our survival but to considerable growth. Now, nearly four years in, we have expanded our space by an additional 1000 sq ft. Our spa proudly offers a range of services, including rejuvenating facials, expert eyelash extensions, comprehensive hair care services, soothing massage therapy, and invigorating body treatments. This expansion also introduces an exciting new venture – a barber shop and men’s cave, located in a loft on the second floor, which brings our total area to 3600 sq ft. My journey in building and expanding my business reflects a commitment to making a positive impact in people’s lives. This is not just a business; it’s a haven for beauty, relaxation, and personal transformation, continually evolving to meet the diverse needs of our guests.

As an entrepreneur, my career has been a blend of dedication, hard work, and a deep commitment to both my family and my profession. What truly sets me apart is my ability to balance these aspects while infusing my passion for travel and education into my business philosophy. My journey wasn’t straightforward. I trained with some of the nation’s top artists, many of whom are now global educators. This experience, combined with a challenging upbringing, has not only shaped me but also made me a better mentor for my team. It’s about more than just hair and beauty; it’s about life lessons and resilience. Our brand is a testament to our morals, credibility, knowledge and passion . From our social media presence to our online branding, we’ve created a narrative that speaks volumes. But the real magic happens when you walk through our doors. Our team – loving, caring, kind, and fun – works tirelessly to master their crafts and generously shares their knowledge to foster collective growth. The path to where I am today was paved with challenges, requiring not just hard work but also emotional resilience. Blood, sweat, tears, and smiles have been part of this journey. Overcoming these hurdles was possible thanks to the unwavering support of my friends, family, and loyal guests who trusted in my vision. Additionally, partnering with a business coaching company specialized in salons and spas was pivotal. They help guide me through the nuances of business management while aiding in my personal growth. Our industry standing is something I take immense pride in. We offer a wide range of fabulous services, all under one roof, setting us apart as the best in our field. But it’s not just about the services; it’s about the experience. We prioritize providing a relaxing environment, top-notch service, and education on home care for our clients. The most significant lessons I’ve learned are resilience, the importance of continuous learning, and the power of a supportive community. These lessons have not only helped in professional growth but also in creating a nurturing and educational environment for my team and clients. What I want the world to know about my brand and story is this: We are more than just a spa or a salon; we are a community of passionate individuals dedicated to excellence, education, and emotional support. Our doors are open not just for beauty services but for an experience that uplifts and educates. This journey has been one of passion, learning, and growth. It’s a narrative that goes beyond beauty and touches upon the essence of personal and professional development.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Saturday kicks off with brunch downtown, then my daughter’s volleyball tournament, followed by delicious Tex-Mex at Pappacito’s Cantina. Unwinds with darts at Time Out Tavern. Sunday boat ride on Lake Houston and a delightful brunch at Raffa’s in Kingwood, capped with wake surfing. Monday is dedicated to shopping at the Galleria and lunch at my fave B and B Butchershop. Tuesday transforms into a day of indulgence with a full-body spa treatment, including a seaweed wrap, Vichy shower, massage, facial, and a stylish blowout. Wednesday evening is sushi time at WO Sushi near Conroe, sprinkle the week with home-cooked meals, a cooking class at Sur La Table, and thrilling go-kart racing at K-1. Throughout the week, we also enjoy manicures and quality time together. A blend of fun, relaxation, and adventure.

Today, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to two incredible mentors, Jennifer and Brett Thompson. Their guidance, wisdom, and support have been pivotal in my journey over the years.
