Meet Marcus Buckner | Square Bidness Apparel Designer and Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Buckner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The persistent knowing that Square Bidness Apparel starts and ends with me. So I know I have to get up and push daily for Square Bidness Apparel if I don’t, what will make someone else push and represent it, and in today’s marketing your brand is on your body and in your pocket or your hand with the phone so you are at least able to create awareness daily. Like Nip say “it’s a Marathon” and it really is you have to persevere and find ways to push forward daily!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I created Square Bidness Apparel in November of 2021. Coming from Houston heading back to Hammond and it was brilliant in my mind due to the circumstances of what was going on at the time. I feel it was God sent. I started off doing t-shirts and the reception was big but the hustle was normal because that’s what I do, I created a Square that I interchanged the stamps and could relate to a lot of people interests and practice a way of living which is Square Bidness just doing business with integrity. That’s just what everyone should be striving for doing business the correct way. In the beginning I thought yeah this gone be a piece of cake then you learn it starts out as support and you have to give your clients something to look forward to, cause nobody just gone give you there money you got to give them a reason to want to spend there money. Then you can’t get to everybody so you need places where they can get the product even when you not around squarebidness.com, when you start a business you got to be the accountant, creator, the marketer, the brand ambassador it’s a lot of roles you have to play! You have to do all of them pretty well no role is more or least important at the time. Square Bidness Apparel have been here for three years and we gone ride it until it’s where it supposed to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m taking you to Square Bidness distribution center where the magic happens. Go eat at Annette’s might go kick it at the BLVD or The Encore event center all that’s in Hammond Louisiana. And if we in Alexandria we’ll go check out Get it to Go 2001 Lee street where they keep Square Bidness Apparel on deck, go by Boo at Start 2 Finish he a Square Bidness brand ambassador, and go grab something to eat at Delish or Chrissy’s Cajun Kitchen. I haven’t been doing much fun the last 3 years it’s been a lot of work, grind, and dedication!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God 1st he is definitely real man it’s been situations along my journey that I know it couldn’t be nothing but Him that bring me through. My cousin Dominic from Port Arthur I seen his grind with the apparel when I was doing a lot of nothing thinking I was doing something. My family supported me from the beginning. My loyal clients who be waiting on the next collection ready to be the first ones with it. My business associate Monica C who stayed down with me, when I was feeling at my worse, and she go whip up ground deer burritos and you see it’s just a mindset! Do what you got to do to keep stay positive at all cost, when you wake up in the morning just know life is good cause some people didn’t! My business associate Marcus Logan in the Dominican Republic over there creating new opportunities for us. It’s just the beginning! You just have to stay down!
