Meet Margie Smith | Realtor®, MHRD, CFSP™, NHC & Retired Army Veteran

We had the good fortune of connecting with Margie Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Margie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was rooted in a combination of faith, purpose, autonomy, authenticity, and impact. I’ve always had a strong drive to build something of longevity on my own terms. Starting my business in real estate allowed me to use my gifts and skills to directly serve people, and make decisions that align with my vision and values: integrity, excellence, and empowerment. I prayed for direction and clarity on it, and real estate was the answer for me. My husband and I were already investors for some years prior to becoming Realtors®, and it was something that allowed me to have a multifacted impact on my family and others.
Once in the industry, I recognized there were many opportunities for both of us in the market. I saw the need for a more client-centered, educational, and relationship-driven approach, especially for people who wanted someone truly advocating for them. I felt confident that my husband and I had what we needed to get started with building something sustainable, successful, and impactful.
Being a Realtor® is giving me the freedom to be innovative, build lasting client relationships, and grow a team in the future that reflects the excellence and care I believe every client deserves. I love the flexibility it allows for my personal life. Ultimately, I saw real estate as not just as a career move, but as a calling to continue serving, leading, and building a legacy.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Realtor® and my sponsoring brokerage is Strongtower Realty Group. My real estate business is built on faith, strategy, and service. I help clients navigate both residential and commercial real estate with clarity, confidence, and care. What sets me apart is not just what I do, but how I do it. I’m faith-led, relationship-focused, and deeply committed to making sure my clients are not just served, but get results and are empowered. All of my clients get double the service and expertise, as my husband is also a licensed residential and commercial Realtor®.
I’m most proud of, and excited about building a business that truly reflects my authenticity, and a one that makes my clients feel empowered and supported through one of life’s biggest decisions. I arrived here through faith and investing. As previously mentioned, my husband and I are investors and homeowners, so I’m not just advising from the sidelines. I specialize in helping individuals, families, and veterans build wealth through real estate, whether they’re buying their first home, expanding their investment portfolio, or launching their business in a commercial space. I’m actively doing what I help others do. I understand the mindset, the risks, and the rewards, because I’ve experienced them firsthand. I bring real-life experience to the table, not just theory, and that gives my clients added confidence that I’m guiding them from a place of personal and professional alignment.
In terms of credentials, I hold a Masters in Human Resource Development, and real estate designations including Realtor® with the National Association of Realtors, New Home Construction Specialist, and Certified Full Service Professional. I work within a brokerage with many industry-leading designations and credentials that allow me to grow, leverage valuable resources, and be in collaborative environments to best serve my clients. I take pride in going beyond the closing table, and offering more than just real estate transactions.
Was/Is it easy? Absolutely not. The journey has come with its fair share of obstacles. Building a business while balancing family, faith, and a military-to-civilian transition is not always smooth. Doors didn’t open right away, clients were slow to come, or sometimes the workload felt overwhelming.
But I never gave up. I leaned into my faith, remembered my purpose, and drew strength from God to stay disciplined, resilient, and faithful under pressure. I also made a point to stay plugged into education, and never stop growing. Learning what my top three spiritual gifts are was the ultimate game changer: encourage, faith, give. They are in every single part of my business, which is why I love what I do so much.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned? Believe in the Lord for your business, and stay rooted in your faith. Prayer is life when you’re dreaming big, because God opens doors no one else can. Write out your goals and break them into small steps. Be consistent, even when you don’t see instant results. Always move with integrity, because your character builds your brand. Scale & delegate to become more income-producing, balanced, and efficient personally and professionally. It gets you closer to your individual goals; peace, autonomy, flexibility, health, wealth, legacy. And finally, give yourself grace. You can be both a work in progress and a powerhouse at the same time. Your journey is just that; it yours.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m more than just another agent, and this about more than just real estate. It’s about faith, purpose, legacy, and service. It about people’s lives. I’m living the very principles I share. I’m STILL serving all over the world after the uniform. I want my story to inspire others to walk in their purpose, and to be proof that with faith, hard work, and vision, anyone can build something great at any point in life. Alongside my husband, I am committed to breaking barriers and paving the way for our family, and for more women, married couples, veterans, and minority entrepreneurs to succeed in this industry. My real estate business is the vessel for my ministry, and the vehicle for my legacy. I’m just getting started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I’m incredibly grateful for the people and communities who’ve poured into me along the way. First and foremost, I give all glory to God. My faith has been the anchor for everything; my decisions, my strength, every leap of faith, and every open door I’ve walked through. My faith constantly reminds me that I am on assignment, and there is a bigger purpose behind what I do.
I also want to shout out my wonderful husband, Jeremiah Smith, Commercial Real Estate Advisor, and my brilliant son and real estate apprentice, Jeremiah Jr. My inner circle supported me through big dreams, bold moves, and the grind that comes with building a real estate business.
My family, friends, and my church family at Church of the Bay in League City have been a blessing. They’ve all played a huge role in my spiritual growth and have been a constant source of encouragement and community. As a veteran, I’m also grateful for the discipline, resilience, and leadership that I carry into my business every day, and for my fellow veterans that always show support.
I’m deeply thankful to my brokers who have played a critical role in my professional growth. Their leadership and mentorship have helped me refine my skills, expand my vision, and reach new levels in my career.
Lastly, I want to thank my amazing clients, especially the ones who trusted me early on. Their trust and partnership mean everything. They continue to inspire me to deliver results and serve with faith, excellence, and care.
