Meet Marquise Walker | Dog breeder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquise Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquise, why did you pursue a creative career?
I grew up around dogs my uncle always had 2-3 dogs and I would always be over there helping him train/take care of his dogs which got me interested in learning more about the American bully breed/breeding

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At bigapekennels we really strive on producing quality bulls that have good temperaments, great bloodline, and correct structure. I’m mostly proud of everything that I’ve learned coming into this. I’m also proud seeing families happy with their bullies and I love seeing how they grow/what I’ve produced especially after putting lots of time/work/research into producing amazing bullies. I got to where I am today through trials and tributes it wasn’t easy I definitely had ups and downs. Producing dogs is a whole different world, from finding the right stud, taking care of your dog while she’s pregnant and not stressing her out to understanding the whole whelping process, and taking care of puppies. The first 2-4 weeks are crucial. Through all of the challenges I’ve faced I’m happy I had people in my corner that didn’t let me give up and encouraged me to keep going my kennel partner played a huge part in that. Without him I wouldn’t be where I am today shout out tricitybullies. Some of the lessons I’ve learned is that it takes a lot to take care of puppies they’re just like new born babies it takes a lot to feed&care for them. Another lesson I’ve learned is be timely with your vaccination schedule and do your own research. I want the world to know that it’s not a easy business but everyone makes it seem like it is. I’t takes a lot of time, patience, and effort. At bigapekennels we take a lot of pride in our dogs and their productions we enjoy spreading love&compassion for American Bullies. As for myself, I want the world to know that I strive to make it a smooth&affordable process for my clients. I’m all about keeping them comfortable through the adopting process.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend friend was visiting the area, id take them to minnehaha falls, mall of America, Timberwolves, Vikings or Lynx game. The best spots to eat in the area is Fogo, Oceanaire , and crave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to palacio bully camp he has taught me a lot when it comes to quality & production when it comes to bullies. I would like to give a shout out to my family for keeping me level headed when it comes to my business and helping me promote my bulls.
