We had the good fortune of connecting with Martha Villegas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Martha, where are you from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised here in Houston, Texas. My parents immigrated from El Salvador in the early 80’s. They came here to build a better life for themselves. My dad worked in construction and labor jobs while my mom raised my sisters and I. I always enjoyed school and loved reading. My parents never forced anything upon me, all they simply wanted was for me to be happy. I’m so grateful for that. It gave me the freedom to discover what I liked and disliked and discover myself. I graduated from high school, got a college degree and now I am an entrepreneur. I’m a big believer that we all have a calling during our lifetime, there is something only you can do, something truly special. As the years go by, I continue to discover more of my purpose and what I am here to do. As I’ve gotten older, I realized faith has played a big role in my parents’ life. I think faith is a key component to living your best life. You must trust your inner knowing and have faith that you are always being guided. Life is one big beautiful journey and we are the creator of our reality, that is what I know for sure.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called RPG Home Team. We help homeowners facing Foreclosure or other distressing situations find better solutions to their problems. We specialize in structuring creative solutions that allow us to help even when the issues seem helpless. We are known for really caring for our clients and providing value above and beyond normal expectations. I am most proud of the values and integrity of everyone on our team and the sincere desire to really help homeowners. Our creative solutions set us far apart from other companies in our industry. Not only can we help homeowners when most others cannot, but we can usually offer more than competitors and a wide range of solutions for every situation. With the current circumstances we are in, many homeowners are losing their jobs and facing hardships. We are here to help those in need.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve always loved Empire Cafe. I’ve been going there for a few years now and there iced coffees are definitely one of my favorites! If your ever there try their Milkyway iced latte. You won’t be disappointed!
Mastros is a beautiful restaurant! They have delicious food and their butter cake is amazing! Agora is the coziest coffee shop. I love the vibe. If you’re looking to get some work done, reading or to meet up with a friend over a glass of wine it’s a great spot. I also recommend checking out Cafe Poetes on West Gray. It is the cutest french inspired café.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I now believe that there are no accidents in life and that in fact everyone you meet and every experience you go through is simply part of the journey of what is called “earth school.” We are always learning lessons many times through the people we meet. It’s amazing to think of everyone that has been part of my journey this far in my life.
My parents have played a big role in who I am today. I learned mostly through their actions of the importance of hard work and simply being kind to others.
My boyfriend, David, has been my biggest supporter since day one. I am grateful for him every single day. To have someone that’s always there for you is one of the most beautiful things ever. My two beautiful sisters that have always been supportive of me and my big dreams. I am grateful for their constant encouragement. Tony Robbins has been a big influence in my life. I read his book Awaken the Giant Within years ago and just fell in love with his teachings. I’m also a huge fan of Dr. Wayne Dyer. I highly recommend watching his movie The Shift. It’s powerful. Marie Forleo has also been a big influence in my life. She’s taught me that giving value to others is what its all about. Ask yourself, How can I serve?
