Meet Marvena Pimper | Content Creator & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvena Pimper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marvena, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Hands down, setting goals for myself. My brain is constantly going & something I always push for is growth within myself. Having something to refer/look back on & say “Yeah, I did that”. In the midst of that, I’ve worked on being more realistic with myself as well. Understanding, that goals don’t have to be attained with a few days. I have goals throughout the week, the months, & even the year.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel as though my authenticity is what sets me aside from others. Authentic within my work along with being an authentic individual to my clients, which can sometimes be hard to find in todays time. I’m very much so proud of my growth & where I started at in this journey. I remember impulsively purchasing a starter Nikon camera one day & always taking photos of my son – his little hands, toes, eyes. From there, I started booking $20 sessions on Coronado Beach in San Diego – truthfully, I had no idea what I was doing.
It was rough. I felt as though I had so much creativity in my head, though it was execution that I was struggling with. Overtime I’ve learned to give myself grace & understand that it’s going to take time – and that’s okay.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our first stop would be Pappadeaux, it was one of the first places I went to in Houston & will forever be a favorite of mine! Something I can say all my friends & I have in common is shopping, so we’d of course have to visit the Galleria along with the the Woodlands Mall. Sundays always call for a walk through a market & the Houston Farmers Market is perfect for exactly that.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If it weren’t for the people in my circle (& God), I truly don’t know where I would be. I was blessed with an amazing husband, Adam. You support every endeavor that I do, you’re an awesome listener & truly help navigate each path we take. I couldn’t have chose a better partner in life.
Our son, my James. You are my muse & my reason for every little thing I do – I’m beyond blessed to be your mama.
Dad, Mom, & D – You guys molded me into who I am – I love y’all endlessly.
